Rosehill Gardens offers gardening classes for children and adults, beautiful live plants, seasonal items and fresh cut flowers.
Join us in the Barkley Square pavilion each Thursday 10-2
The Flower Market offers a fun morning for kids with storytime hosted by The Learning Tree at 10:30 am and children's gardening classes at 11:00 am and 11:30 am.
Children's Gardening Class schedule
Aug 6 - Build a Fairy/Gnome Garden - Return of our most popular class!
Aug 13 - The Nose Garden - Building Awareness of fragrant plants and flowers. Kids will make and take home their own cloth bundle of dried flowers and herbs.
Aug 20 - Seriously Silly - Kids will plant their own garden using a "found object." It could be an old boot, piece of driftwood, big shell, broken toy or sidewalk junk. Rosehill Gardens will provide the objects or you can bring one from home!
Aug 27 - Botanical Printmaking - Kids will make and take home a project they make from recycled paper, using vegetables as stamps.
Sept 3 - Going to Seed - children will create their own design using vegetable and flower seeds, framed by a border of colorful seed packets.
Sept 10 - NO FLOWER MARKET
Sept 17 - Mystery Match-up Game - children will uncover secret plants by crayon rubbings. They'll match their rubbings to plants on display.
Sept 24 - Jazz-o-Lantern - children will take home small pumpkins they'll decorate with colorful accessories. A popular class from last fall!
Classes fill up fast, therefore advance registration is highly recommended! Please register in advance by email to info@destinationparkplace.com or call 913-381-2229 (class cost is $5 per child).
